What to Wear With White Jeans, According to a Fashion Editor

What to wear with white denim? You are. The warmer spring and summer days invite us to switch out dark clothing for lighter colours. Knowing how to style your white jeans is a must-have skill.

It’s time to ditch the grey and black jeans and replace them with our favourite white denim. Spring trends are plentiful, including boat shoes and curtain dresses. But they can be difficult to master and short-lived. Wearing white jeans is a great way to stand out from the crowd.

It’s easy for me to style white denim, as I don’t usually wear many colours (blue jeans are included). My favourite outfits include the classic all-white look, mixing neutrals and my go-to blazer ensemble. It took me years to perfect my styling skills for white jeans. To give you some ideas, I’ve gathered a range of outfits featuring white jeans. So we’ll both be looking our best in 2025. You can wear white jeans all year long.

Glamour’s White Jeans Style List

1. A blazer is a great way to dress up.

I love wearing white jeans with a classic black blazer. A blazer can add sophistication to a more casual denim look. With loafers and a black-and-white colour scheme, this is a great office outfit. Add a belt for a polished look. Take note that straight-leg and wide-leg styles work best for this look.

2. An all-white ensemble

Wearing all white may seem intimidating. After all, who is so diligent about avoiding stains? If you’re confident that you can prevent sauces and splatters, then a monochrome look is perfect for Labor Day. You can also experiment with different textures or cuts. As an outfit inspiration, a cropped shirt, like the one above, or a vest in white would be great. Grab a pair of slinky shoes and a matching white bag.

3. Leather jacket

Leather jackets are a year-round staple that pairs well with white jeans. They add a casual air and can be worn over a variety of tops, from white T-shirts and button-downs to crewneck sweaters. I would add a sporty chic cap to the look and call it a Sunday brunch outfit. You don’t want to wear something heavy in spring? Suede jackets can be a great alternative. They’re trendy right now and are lighter than leather.

4. Casual cardigan

Accessorizing a cardigan appropriately is the key to elevating it. This means wearing clean white jeans with thick hoops and your favourite bag. If you’re like me, then I prefer to match white jeans with neutrals. However, if you would rather show off that bright pink cardigan instead, feel free to do so.

5. A button-down shirt

Button-downs go with white jeans like sunscreen goes with the beach. If you’re unsure about the skinny jeans trend and want to try it out, button-downs will be a great way to style the controversial denim. I have some thrifted Ralph Lauren buttons in my closet. They never look as nice as when I pair them with white jeans.

6. Combat boots

It’s fun to mix something like combat boots with clean, crisp jeans. This keeps your audience guessing about what kind of personality you have that day. It’s not just a stylish outfit but also a practical one as we jump over the puddles created by springtime rains. If I want to keep the focus on the shoes, a simple white shirt or tank top is the way to go. You can add an oversized jacket if the weather gets cold.

7. Butter Yellow

You’ve heard it: Butter yellow is a colour that’s hot right now. You may have jumped on this trend early, and now you’re stuck with a bunch of butter-yellow tops that you don’t know how you can style. You can pair them with white jeans. Both are light colours that make for a perfect summer outfit when combined. As a rule, pastels work better with white pants than blue jeans.

8. Animal prints

Look at the print first. If the print is something like a zebra or cow print, the white spots will tie in with the white pants. Those with too many colours could clash.

9. A trench coat

The spring is trench coat season, and the classic beige shade works well with white jeans. All neutrals, from oats to browns and even khakis, can be styled to create a sleek ensemble. As an accessory, I’d add a pair of retro sunglasses, as shown.

10. Ride in style with riding boots

The equestrian look is a trend that I can support. Dressing as if you were about to ride off into the sunset is not just for horse girls. You’ll want to wear skinny jeans, riding boots and turtlenecks. If you have a barn coat, that would be even better.
