It finally happened, guys. I got old. Or, rather, I am old. The whole thing started about a week ago when my Gen Z colleague referred to the 1990s as the “olden days.” At first, I laughed, but I quickly realized that she was right. She’s right! The 1990s are over 30 years old! (Yes, I did say, “Holy Smokes!” I’m not sure if this proves I’m a stiff or just that I’m getting older.)
The realization that I was living in the past was a shock, but it also made me think about how great that period was. Tamagotchis! Lunchables! Boy Meets World And the Fashion! In my humble opinion, the fashion for men and women was amazing: acid-washed denim, neon windbreakers and crimped hair were all over the place. Corduroy is a clothing item from the 1990s that has made a huge comeback.
Corduroys are a retro-chic staple. They’re comfortable, stylish, and, yes, a little nostalgic. Cords are not only a chic alternative to jeans but also a good way to avoid rigidity. It’s a sophisticated look to wear that thick ribbed material on your body, whether it’s in the form of pants, a shirt, or even a corduroy suit.
