What’s the point of a baseball hat if it doesn’t give you a blank space to advertise on your forehead? (And sun protection, I suppose.) Hats are a way to show off our tastes. For celebrities, however, they act as a form of endorsement.
Some celebrities choose to keep their hats free from branded content. Kendall Jenner and Bad Bunny have all worn the New York Yankees’ logo at one time or another. Others use their headwear as a way to share a bit about their personalities, their interests and tastes.
Jennifer Lawrence is a proud collector of novelty caps. She uses them to express her highbrow and popular interests. She loves a black cap with the words “The Twilight Saga Breaking Dawn Part 1″ in red embroidery. But she also likes a navy Shania Twain cap with yellow text and a bright pink cap that says In The Mood For Love by Wong Kar Wai.
Lawrence isn’t alone in wearing novelty caps. They are a perfect accessory for thespians. Kaia Gerber, who was in a production of Evanston Salt Climbing, paid tribute to Cole Escola with a black cap that read, “A New Play By Cole Escola.” George Clooney is currently performing Good Night and Good Luck at the stage door wearing a white Bronx Zoo hat. I feel like he is a Dinousar safari guy. Please confirm, Goerge.
Timothee Chalamet and Greta Leigh all wore the black and white logo cap of the New York City Ballet. Johnson’s sartorial choices are reminiscent of her starring role as Suspiria, a Luca Guadagnino movie about an American dancer who joins a Berlin coven-run company. Chalamet is an advocate of arts education and has worn his jacket with an NFL shirt. Wearing your values is a great idea.
Consider adding a novelty baseball hat to your warm-weather wardrobe. There are plenty of celebrities you can look up to for inspiration.
