What To Do When Upholstery Cleaning Is Being Tested With Stains Of Sticky Sauces

Red sauce stains can be caused by eating tomato sauce on upholstery. The tomato sauce penetrates upholstery, and eventually dries out, leaving it blemished by crusty red stains. As with all food stains tomato sauce should be removed as soon as possible. The longer red sauce remains on upholstery, the harder it is to restore. Use simple, easy techniques to remove red tomato paste from upholstery.

It’s not easy, but you should try. Clean the area as soon as possible after blotting spills with a white, clean cloth. The longer you wait, the harder it is to remove stains.

With a spatula, remove as much excess as you can. Apply the wet spotter to the fabric and rub it in. Rinse the fabric thoroughly with water, then launder. Apply an enzyme presoak and allow it to work for a while, but keep the paste moist. Rinse the area thoroughly to remove any traces of presoak enzyme paste. Launder immediately after drying.

The wooden surfaces can be cleaned by wiping them with a damp rag. Surfaces that have not been treated should be cleaned immediately using a damp, warm cloth. Rinse with clean, sudsy water and then polish or wax as usual.

Upholstery Cleaning: Additional Steps If the Easy Steps Don’t Work

  1. Paper towels can be used to remove excess red sauce from the upholstery. Avoid rubbing the stain as it will spread.
  2. Add ice water to the spray bottle. Then, spray the remaining stain of sauce with water. Let the upholstery that has been stained with sauce soak in water for one minute.
  3. Use fresh paper towels to wipe the stain. Remove as much of the red sauce as you can from the upholstery.
  4. If red sauce is still stuck to the upholstery, prepare a detergent solution. Pour 2 cups of cold tap water into a pail and add 1 tablespoon of liquid dishwashing soap.
  5. The solution can be used to dampen a clean cloth. Then, using the dampened cloth, rub the red sauce stain to remove it completely.
  6. Another cloth should be moistened with cool water. Rinse the upholstery thoroughly after blotting the area that was previously stained.
  7. To dry the upholstery, use a damp towel. As much moisture as you can absorb
