Unique DIY Prom Hairstyles for Short Hair
The Elegant Tri Updo
Procedure
- Start by curling your hair. The front should have natural curls. For large sections of hair, curl them with a curling iron for 7 seconds.
- Divide your hair into the top, middle, and bottom sections. Some hair can be left out at the front. These loose strands can be used as side bangs.
- Then, trim the remaining two sections. Start with the bottom. The bottom section of your hair should be wrapped in a messy, low bun. Securely pin it in place.
- Continue the process with the remaining sections. Make sure they are aligned.
- Spray some hairspray on your hair to keep it in place.
To add a touch of elegance, use a thin satin hairband the same color as your gown.
Double Braid with a Twist
Procedure
- To detangle your hair, comb it.
- Let your hair down in the middle.
- One side of the hair should be taken from the front. Secure the ends with an elastic band.
- Do the same thing on the opposite side.
- You will need to take equal-sized portions of hair from each side. Turn both ends of the hair in a twist and tie them with an elastic band at the back.
- Turn the half-up ponytail upside down and place it above the elastic band.
- Pin the small braids to the half-twisted ponytail.
The Half Bouffant
Procedure
- Spray some texturizing spray onto your hair after you have tangled it.
- Take some hair off the top of your head, then backcomb it from the middle up to the roots. This will give your hair a bouffant style. As you would with a half ponytail, comb the top section.
- One side of your hair should be twisted and pinned over the half-up ponytail.
- Do the same thing on the opposite side.
- Frame your face by letting your bangs and stray hair fall to the sides.
- Fresh flowers can add a finishing touch to the look.
Double Braids Side Hairdo
Procedure
- A 4-inch long section of hair should be taken from one side. Then, braid it into a regular braid. Attach an elastic band to the end.
- Take another section of hair below the first. This second section should be braided into a regular braid.
- To make them appear more voluminous, you can pancake the braids.
- To keep the braids in place, pin both ends to the back.
- It’s okay for some hair to fall; it adds to the beauty.
- Add some flowers to your look.
The Heightened Bouffant
Procedure
- Remember to backcomb your hair around the crown of the head. This will give your hair a bouffant style. Attach the section to your head by tying a knot.
- Tie your hair in a French twist.
- For shoulder-length hair, tie your hair up in a messy bun.
- Apply hairspray to control any flyaways.
The Half-Four Braid
Procedure
- To detangle your hair thoroughly, comb it.
- Hold some hair backward from the sides and front.
- Make a four-part braid using it. Divide your hair into four sections. One corner section should be taken, and the other should be passed under the closest section. Then give the second section over it. To make the corner section on either side, switch it to the opposite corner section.
- Take the section you have just crossed with the first corner section and pass it under the corner section. This will create a corner section on each side.
- Continue weaving the braid until you reach the end. Attach the elastic braid at the end.
- To hold the braid in place, you can use pins.
