Update FCP Media
Access to growing video files becomes more and more popular. If you edit live video feeds in Final Cut Pro then this is the right solution for you. The green button allows you to quickly refresh all media files that have been loaded into Final Cut Pro. The duration and media contents of video clips refreshes with just one single mouse click.
MXF Import QT also supports access to growing MXF files which are still being transferred. This can include file copy processes, downloads and file ingests, e.g. access to XDCAM and XDCAM HD footage during offload. The media update process in Final Cut Pro works the same way like when updating live video feeds.
In addition to growing MOV or MXF files also other media files can be updated after they have been modified. For example still graphics or Motion project files that have been edited will refresh after clicking on the green button.
Another feature of Update FCP Media is the ability to sync contents from a folder with a bin in the Final Cut Pro browser. This improves the operator’s import process when new media files from a folder need to be loaded into Final Cut Pro. Imagine your graphic department renders 2D or 3D animations to a specific folder on your central storage. Instead of importing all files one after the other into Final Cut Pro after rendering was done you just need to hit the blue button and all new files get loaded into your project’s bin.
This workflow was especially developed by the MXF4mac team to load EVS streaming files for the German football league production fast and easy into Final Cut Pro. A file type filter also avoids to load unwanted assets into Final Cut Pro. Once again the MXF4mac team proves their ability to tremendously improve video and media workflows with Final Cut Studio beyond pure MXF. Workflow is everything.
