REDCODE QuickTime codec
The REDCODE RAW codec supports RT playback and editing of QuickTime reference movies generated in camera or by RED Alert!
Supports all Build 16 and earlier camera firmware QuickTime reference movies, REDspace, 4K 16×9, Full resolution (_F) movies.
Note: Pre Build 16 footage is rendered with a slightly different white point than previous versions of this codec. 4K & 3K full resolution (_F) movies may crash QuickTime player if the high-quality setting is enabled in the QuickTime player preferences.
Certain settings from RED Alert! generated QuickTime reference movies will not transfer, including: Curve, Color Space, Gamma Space, DRX. Transcoded QuickTime movies generated by RED Alert! or REDCINE do not have this restriction.
Depending on your system configuration, you may see less than full frame rate playback. RED recommends the current top end configuration of a MacPro with 8 cores, fast RAID 0 striped drives and a minimum of 4 gigabytes of RAM if you plan on editing 2K or larger QuickTime reference movies. For RT editing on a MacBook Pro, RED recommends you use 1K QuickTime reference movies.
