PHYX Color
Simulate vintage film processes and create unique looks with color retouching filters such as “Techni2Strip” and “Bleach Bypass”.
Bleach Bypass
The Bleach Bypass process (also called ‘skip-bleach’ or ‘ENR’) was developed by Miyazawa Kazuo in the late 1950’s to reduce saturation and latitude of film. The process has been used as a dramatic effect in many notable films such as; ‘Seven’, ‘Fight Club’, ‘Saving Private Ryan’, ‘300’, ‘Stealing Beauty’, etc. This processor faithfully simulates the laboratory technique.
Glow Dark
Use to diffuse darker areas of 3d generated imagery to make renders look ‘more real’. This processor may also be used with film or video originated material to add unique diffusion to dark areas. Glow Dark can also be used to remove the edginess from digital video.
Selective Saturation
Precisely sample a color and control its saturation. Selective Saturation differs from Shift/Suppress in its color sampling method, and is perfect for precisely isolating and controlling single colors.
Shift/Suppress
Powerfully shift or suppress any color in an any image. Amount of shift and suppression is controllable. Create your own ‘color gels’ and suppress garish hues instantly.
Techni2Strip
This processor simulates the Technicolor 2-strip process first introduced as the Technicolor System 1 Additive Color Projection in 1917, Technicolor processes were made extremely popular through films such as; ‘Gone With the Wind’, ‘Ben-Hur’, ‘The Phantom of the Opera’, ‘The Wizard of Oz’, etc. Techni2Strip authentically simulates the vintage process.
