Final Cut Pro Media Plug-in

As timelines get shorter and people in the industry become specialized, collaborating and editing large media files in geographically dispersed locations is increasingly common in today's non-linear editing environments.

Signiant's integration with Apple's Final Cut Pro (FCP) non linear editing system replaces the need to move large media projects across the WAN using FTP-based solutions or expensive point-to-point hardware-based file acceleration technologies. Within the Final Cut Pro interface, users can select the Signiant Transfer option which automatically performs the following:

- Builds the XML metadata file containing the sequences, edit points and other pertinent information
- Creates the manifest of files needed to transfer the project, bin or sequence
- Accelerates the package transfer across the WAN to the target NLE workstation using Signiant technology
- Modifies the metadata file on the target end to point to the new media locations
- Sends an email to notify person(s) that the content is available at the new location

With Signiant's Plug-In for FCP, media and entertainment companies can quickly solve the pressing problem of accelerating file movement between Final Cut Pro systems while maximizing network resources, all by using a high-performance software-only infrastructure.
