Hair Detox

Style, wash dry, style, hairspray and workout. Is it possible to stop the cycle of hair damage? It may never end, but a detox can help! Give your hair a break for a few days. Do not touch your hair with a curling iron, straightener or blow dryer. Let’s see what happens.

We don’t realize the damage we do to our hair by blowouts, colour, and other abuses. It can be difficult to exercise during the week without having your hair done and itchy. My advice? Give your hair a break whenever you don’t have anyone or anything to watch before going for a Beauty Salon in Downtown Manhattan.

Moisture

Leave your locks to dry for a few days. If you are able, go without a hair-do for one week. During your next haircut, you’ll notice a huge difference in your hair. If you don’t want to blow out your hair, and heaviness isn’t an issue, go ahead and use all the oils and creams your hair needs.

Do not over-wash hair. Yes, it is possible. Overwashing hair can strip it of its natural oils and make your scalp more prone to dandruff. My hair is greasy from working out a lot. I use dry shampoo to clean it. I then apply moisturizing styling products to my hair and put it in a bun. You can’t go wrong with a ponytail, braid, or bun!

Towel-dry your hair. I used to be a top-offender, ringing my hair with water and wrapping a towel around it so it would fall off. To dry your hair a bit, pulling, squeezing, and twisting it in the towel is unnecessary. This is what ruins my curls.

Length

Getting your hair healthy requires a lot of nourishing moisture. You will need to maintain your hair longer. This is a fact, but it’s easy for people to forget how much moisture their hair will need as it grows. Nikki, our girl, recommends SheaMoisture Jamaican Black Castor oil Strengthen & Repair Treatment Masque and other hair care products such as Briogeo Scalp Revival Charcoal and Tea Tree Scalp Treat Serum. Hair Masks

Masking is caring! When done correctly, hair masks can benefit your hair’s health. These five-minute hair masks are not for me, but it’s my opinion. No science supports this claim. I use overnight masks, even if they’re not labelled for overnight use. Hot oil treatments and leave-in conditioners are my favourites, but leave in masks can be great for your hair.
