Frequently Asked Questions
FinalCutters is a user-driven site for the Final Cut community. The site went live in April 2009 with the major addition of a product directory officially launched in March 2010.
All visitors can view the latest news and blog items, the rig of the day photo and tweets from Twitter. It is also possible to search the FinalCutters product directory and view Google web/video results.
The search box appears at the top of every page on FinalCutters and enables internal and external searching of Final Cut Pro related content.
Please note there is no need to enter "Final Cut Pro" or "FCP" to the keywords as we add this automatically behind the scenes.
After entering keywords and clicking the Search button (or pressing return/enter), the results page is shown. There are two pages of results:
- Internal product and company results from the FinalCutters product directory.
- External web and video results provided by Google.
FinalCutters results
By default the 'FinalCutters' results page is shown.

This has a list of results on the left and on the right, a list of links that filter the results. You can filter by either the type of content (e.g. Company or Product) or the tags found on the current results. Beside each filter link is the number of results that were found for that item. This allows you to quickly narrow the results down to exactly what you're looking for.

To remove a filter, click the minus sign to the left of the filter name.
Google Web and Video results
To view this page of results, click the 'Google Web and Video' link.

Web results are shown on the left with video (YouTube and Google Video) results on the right. As expected, clicking on a web result title link will go to that external page. Clicking on a video result will play the video at the top of the results page.

You can close the video player by clicking the button on the right of the title bar.
As a registered user, you can comment on rig photos, write reviews on products and become a fan of products. Product reviews and products you are a fan of will be shown on your user profile page. In addition, your user profile can feature a text introduction to yourself, a link to your website and your profile photo which will be displayed by your comments and reviews.
