Typical FCP setup in the TV truck.

MacPro, 8 cores, 16 GB ram, 4 TB HDs, AJA IoHD, Final Cut Studio 3. This system travels in 3 cases. It is interfaced to whatever TV remote truck I'm in via the IoHD. Most shows are 16X9 SD (yes, its true), and some are 1080i HD. The IoHD handles them all. The system is router fed so that I can access any source in the truck, and is timed into the truck for playback. It appears on all routers so everyone can access my output.

The idea that this setup is "on the go" is freakin' awesome. I would love to be able to drive anywhere with something like this.

Yeah, I'm on the go, all right! Every week I'm in another TV mobile unit working for Golf Channel or ESPN. My edit gear packs into 3 cases that are couriered from site to site. I posted a picture of my latest setup at last week's Phoenix Open. Thanks for looking and posting! Ed

Yo! Brother Ed!! How are you? Smack CO for me and give me a shout next time you're in town. The "Death Star" is packed on the B unit and we're counting down to Sebring.

How do you interface with the EVS? Do you transfer files or is it all recorded baseband?

I ingest in real time via EVS playout through a dedicated router. And we play FCP out via the router to a clip reel. Then we do voiceovers directly onto the reel. We could interface the EVS and FCP via the network, but it wouldn't help in our particular workflow.
